Tangerine Cloze Essay

Do you have students that struggle with essay writing?  But not just any essay - the text-based kind that requires literary analysis and evidence?

I sure did and that's why I made this - the "Cloze Essay".  

It's essentially a fill-in-the-blank essay that requires students to fill in their information from their annotations such as evidence and commentary but removes the layer of organization until the students truly learn it.

I have had great success using this with my English Language Learners and Students with Special Needs.  

This particular essay is based on the book Tangerine by Edward Bloor.  The prompt is at the top and the rest of it is fill-in-the-blank.
