Parts of an Essay Anchor Chart and Flipbook

Regular price $7.95 $0.00
Teach the parts of both informative and argumentative essays with this scaffolded visual system!

There are many things in which a person can become a professional, or “pro”. One could be a pro football player, a pro photographer, a pro dancer, a pro musician and on and on.

Likewise, students can become writing pros! How? By learning to properly use the parts of an essay:

P - Polestar Focus
R - Rules of Conventions
O - Organization
S - Support

With these visuals and the mnemonic, students become more aware of the structure of an essay!

Each essay part has its own title header (there are football headers, music headers, dance headers, and photography headers that you can mix and match to represent all kinds of pros).

Each part is broken down into manageable pieces that are each displayed on their own "card". The idea is that as you teach each of these essay parts, you build a visual display. Mine took up an entire bulletin board that was about 4 feet wide and 5 feet long.

It's perfect for anyone who needs scaffolding, a visual clue, and/or a mnemonic to remember key ideas!

Included in this product:
★ all the pieces and parts of what is required in text-based informative and argumentative essays (as seen in the picture above and in the preview)
★ organizers and checklists
★ memorable mnemonics
★ A flipbook for students to record the information in their notebooks thus creating a kind of portable anchor set! :)

Take a look at the preview to get a closer look at these items.
