Bell Ringers for Middle School - Month of Mentor Sentences for St. Patrick's Day
Give your middle school students four weeks of grammar, writing conventions and reading skills bellringers all based on the included non-fiction text that tells who St. Patrick really was! It's a great way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and learn at the same time!
Each week, students are given one sentence from the text and are asked questions about:
★ text structure
★ conventions
★ types of sentences
★ grammar (adjectives, prepositions, subject & predicate)
★ re-writing sentences with new ideas
★ reading skills like cause/effect, figurative vs. literal, and author's purpose
Students can record their answers on the question sheet or by using a special interactive notebook foldable that matches the sentence for each week!
These mentor sentences are a great way to "sneak in" grammar, conventions, and even some reading skills each day!
